Even though Atlanta-based rapper Maverick‘s song Girls in the City, off of Prosperous Pysche Volume 2, has the potential of bleeding into mainstream Hip Hop, the lack of quality production appears to be too much underground vibe and not enough mainstream sound.
Maverick has the charisma to succeed and while he does appear to be the bright spot beneath the lackluster production, he needs to cement his sound as the overall project begins to mesh together and get quite repetitive if he wants to provide his movement with something listeners can be excited for. There’s a lack of personal narrative or identity on Prosperous Psyche Volume 2, and Maverick of tens has to overcompensate for the hollowness of the album’s production.
But don’t take our word for it, take a listen to Maverick’s Prosperous Psyche Vol. 2
