American Crime showrunner John Ridley is developing a new series with Marvel at ABC. The project will be Ridley’s second under the 12 Years a Slave scriptwriter’s overall deal at the network and the fourth Marvel series on air or in the works at its Disney sister company. In addition to Agents of SHIELD and its spinoff Agent Carter, it was reported earlier this month that ABC was developing a second SHIELD companion series with that series’ executive producer Jeffrey Bell and writer Paul Zbyszewski.
Like that project, Ridley’s series will follow an as-yet unnamed Marvel character. And as is often the case with projects within the comic book studio, details are being held closely under wraps as representatives for Marvel would not comment on a new series or Ridley’s involvement. Such secrecy doesn’t stop us from wondering could a Black Panther or Inhumans series be in the works?
